I wonder how we'll see things progress in the newer UI with Ventura now having 'System Settings' after all these years of having 'System Preferences" (which, btw, in my option, was a bad UI change, having changed something that's been around for so many years, and making things harder to find with no real advantage as far as I can tell so far from my little experience with it so far).įirst of all, to your point of ""Backblaze requires additional *macOS* permissions" when this is not macOS but rather OSX.", I think that is a very minor typo, folks generally use OSX and macOS interchangeably, and don't really specify what VERSION of the Macintosh Operating System is actually being referred to.
Backblaze has released their first stats software#
That was a huge pain in the butt for some software that did things like that, and generally did not seem necessary at all, but was some choice someone made probably NOT based upon necessity.

Yes, I'm sooooo very glad they chose to move to a stand alone application, as all too often, things that don't really _need_ to be in the system preferences, are put in there, and then, sometimes has a negative side effect of not being able to use the system preferences for other things, until you have to wait for some process running inside a system preferences pane to finish, so that you can use the other system preference panes.
